Metamorphosis Final

My first shell I incorporated wire onto it to show variation and differentiate each of them from it's process. Abstractly I wanted to build a mermaid transforming from the shell. I used the shell as the mermaid tail and domes to represent her face. For my final touchings I petina'd the shells for a more aquatic look.

Metamorphosis 2

Drawing out ideas for my transformation project was a little challenging because I had so many ideas I had to simplify it. I started with hydraulic form dye design of a shell shape. I used brass in my overall designs.

Metamorphosis

This Metamorphosis project is about abstract transformation. My idea derived from my love for mermaids and shells. The objective of the transformation displays three stages of an idea and successfully exemplifying them throughout each of the jewelry pieces. My inspiration of spiral designs came from these photos

Free Hand Project Final

My final piece is linked together similar to the arm cuff in the first photo of the belly dancer and my inspired "free hand project"

Arm Band/Cuff

This cuff took over 25 hours to create. I was very pleased with how long and hard I worked on this piece. The concrete process was detailed and a little symmetrical. I placed petina on my final piece after I polished it back to it's original form copper color.

Free Hand Project

My free hand project inspiration derived from a belly dancer accessoried with arm jewelry. It was very intriguing how beautiful the jewelry layed on her arms and wrists as she performed.

Linkage 4

Final Project. The shell form rests on the top of the shoulder as the linkage drapes from the dome.

Linkage 3

My final piece was inspired from just simple curls. I didn't want a specific shape on how to form them I just wanted to curve them to bring interest.

Linkage 2

My original project was supposed to be similar to the images in the previous post.   I altered the linkage to a shell domed-like shoulder piece with domed links draping down the arm.

I used brass sheet metal to form a curved shape. I made several of these shapes and linked it with wire flowing into a coiled like design throughout them.
